Formative experience from my past

Have you ever seen "Beethoven Virus" which is one of the famous soap opera in Korea? It is about main characters passion and love on classical music. I was a big fan, because I have been played violin for a long time. While watching the soap opera, I decided that I would be a member of any orchestra and play the violin to the mass of people if I were a university student. And the dream came true on September,11, 7.P.M at the concert hall of Chugye arts university as a member of HUFS Phill, the only and the best orchestra in HUFS.

I and other members of the HUFS Phill prepared a lot under the extremely hot weather. Though other members started to practice as soon as summer vacation had just begun, I started to practice at July because I had to go back to my home to see my whole family. After I came back to Seoul, I tried hard to catch up with others who had practiced so hard. I did my best not to skip every practice which held three days a week. I even went the practice room of the orchestra and played violin for 2 hours. These kinds of efforts eventually worked, so I could keep steps with others. I and other members of the orchestra went Yangpyeon to do extremely hard, tough practice night and day for a week. Lots of bugs and insects and hot weather interrupted me to practice, but I defeated them with my passion to succeed the performance. Though the semester began and made me busy, the practice continued and the day came. On September,11, I and other members played the music that we practiced so hard. The harmony of the music was so impressive and fascinating that even Beethoven might be surprised to the music. Although I took great amount of trivial mistakes, I thought that my efforts were rewarded so much during this performance.

After finishing the performance successfully, I learned two things. The first thing is that the harmony and union is the strongest thing in the world no matter how people faced on enormous troubles due to its success. The proverb 'practice makes perfect' really came to me during the hard and tough practice. Even thought it was not always happy. Sometimes I wanted to meet my friends and skip the practice time. But looking back now, it was so precious time because I could learn two lessons, have a chance to play music to the public, and meet lots of friends in the orchestra.

  2. 1. What I like about this piece of writing is that she described her hardship and barriers that she confronted during the practice very well. Descriptions were very live and both narrative.

    2. Her main point is that she had a great experience performing as a member of HUFS Phil after overcoming all the hardships and sufferings during practices.

    3. I liked this sentence.
“Lots of bugs and insects and hot weather interrupted me to practice, but I defeated them with my passion to succeed the performance.”
This is because I could feel her strong will from the sentence.

    4. “Although I took great amount of trivial mistakes,"
In this sentence, it might sound more fluent if “took” is changed to “made”.

    5. The one change you could make that would make the biggest improvement in this piece of writing is fix some grammatical mistakes and describe more about the feelings during the performance since the most important things is that she has performed at last with success.
