Last summer, I went to the Hongkong and Macao. Before I go there, I actually didn't know much about that places, so I thought that they are the name of the country which are located in the South-East Asia. However, I was definitely wrong. They are located in the same areas, but have different lifestyles. It was really interesting that they have some similarities and also differences.
Hongkong and Macao have many geological similarities. Both of them are located in the South-East of the China, and they are special administrative regions. Also, they have the same point that they we re the colony of other countries. Hongkong was the colony of the Britain, and Macao was the colony of the Portuguese. Hongkong and Macao are using Cantonese as their first language. Finally, both of them are in the subtropical regions.
However, they also have many differences, which is cultural things and their lifestyles. Industry and market of Hongkong totally relies on import, so they earn their money through manufacturing, while Macao earn their money through the tourist industry, especially from the casino. In the point of political system, Hongkong is using two system because the city is separated in two parts which are peninsula and island. Macao is using one political system.
As I mentioned, Hongkong and Macao are very similar in the point of geological and historical studies. However, they also have many differences in cultural points. Because two cities many similarities and differences, it was very interesting to travel there.

I think my thesis statement is comparing two subjects, which is Hongkong and Macao.
My first body paragraph is focusing on comparison, and the sencond one is focusing on contrast.
I also think each of my body paragraphs has a clear topic sentence, and they are also stating the point of comparison and contrast.
I think each of my body paragraphs contains details to support the conparison or contrast.
I don't think I used connectors to add coherence. I think I can improve this in the second draft.

However, they also have many differences, which is cultural things and their lifestyles. Industry and market of Hongkong totally relies on import, so they earn their money through manufacturing, while Macao earn their money through the tourist industry, especially from the casino. We can find differences also in the political system. Hongkong is separated in two parts, a peninsula and an island. Therefore, they are using two political system. However, Macao is using one political system like other countries.

We tend to think Hongkong and Macao is just very similar, and even some people don't know that they are different city. However, they have many different points and attractiveness, so it is very interesting to travel there. I want to recommend to travel Hongkong and Macao to people who don't know the differences of the cities.
