Where Are You? – Evil's Service

             "You trust me, don't you?"

This is what many Korean men say to their girlfriend who is suspicious of them. But these girls do not always trust their boyfriends. For these girls, a new iPhone application which is named "Trust me" was invented. It is an application to track girlfriends or boyfriends down in real time by using Global Positioning System (GPS). It has exploded in popularity, but also has generated a tremendous amount of controversy. I think if this kind of position tracking service become increasingly popular, there are even more disadvantages of it than advantages.

Some people support the position tracking service by reason of several virtues such as tracing criminals or locating missing people. However, unless this service is restricted strictly, the problem will grow beyond control. First of all, the position tracking service infringes on people's privacy. In an interview with newspapers, "Someday people will know the color of the underwear I am wearing," a guy said, "It is an evil service." Also, rental cars are sometimes equipped with the location-tracking device. Most agents insist that it is merely an antitheft device and do not tell it to their customers, but they can know where the customers go. Another side effect of the position tracking service is that it helps crime. Burglars use this service to check if people leave their house empty. In addition, I have read articles that stalkers who used the position tracking service or device were arrested.

The "Trust me" application goes viral as quickly as it is now suspended because of overloaded servers. But this represents our social conditions that we can not believe other. Instead of using the ridiculous tracking service, why don't we trust others?
